Manufacture will start slowly at the Brazil factory and then be stepped up to match the production of machines at Enercon's Indian factory, at Daman near Bombay, currently running at two to three machines a week. Manufacture of the E40 in Brazil will follow later if demand warrants it. Four Enercon machines are being shipped to three destinations to provide power for desalination plants. Three E30 units are bound for the Spanish Canary Islands where one is to be installed on Tenerife and two on Gran Canaria. The fourth turbine, an E40, is on its way to Greece. The project on Tenerife involves an Enercon desalination plant, while the desalination units in Gran Canaria and Greece have been supplied by other vendors. Enercon says it will be interested to see how the wind turbines operated with the different desalination systems.
