Sales of energy tags in Australia 25% up on last year
Sales of government accredited renewable energy tags are up almost 25% on last year with more than 100,000 Australian households now buying green power, reports the National Green Power Accreditation Program. Corporate support for renewable energy is particularly strong, it says, with sales of green electricity to businesses making up 45% of the total. Businesses in New South Wales (NSW) account for half of all commercial sales. Launched by the NSW state government in 1997, the program accredits eligible renewable energy generators and products across Australia.
