Proposal for 25 MW wind plant in Kerala

The Natural Energy Processing Company (NEPC) group is proposing a 25 MW wind plant in the southern Indian state of Kerala, needing an investment of INR 1 billion ($22.2 million). NEPC chairman, R.P. Khemka has already held talks on the project with Indian industry minister Suseela Gopalan. Work on the plant would begin within six months if the required land was made available, Khemka informed Gopaland. Wind turbines rated at 225 kW are proposed which would generate power for INR 3/kWh ($0.06/kWh), says NEPC.
