Forss wind cluster complete in Scotland
Mainland Britain's most northerly wind project is now operating with the completion of a wind cluster at Forss on the northern tip of Scotland. The site, a former US Navy communication base, is just a few miles from the now defunct Dounreay fast-breeder nuclear reactor site. The two 1.16 MW Bonus turbines were developed by Renewable Energy Systems (RES) and a group of local companies. Allan Johnston from RES says: "We expect it to be a good example of a successful, small scale project developed and built in collaboration with the local community."
