Les Vents de France sets up head office in Alsace

Les Vents de France (LVDF), the company set up by Germany's REpower Systems and Belgian Turbowinds to exploit the French market, is to open a factory in Belfort in Alsace, which will also become its head offices. LVDF is a 50-50 joint venture between the two turbine manufacturers. The facility was formerly used by Alstom to make generators and LVDF intends to use it to build REpower MD70/77 1.5 MW turbines. Production will begin some time in 2003.
