MITSUBISHI SIGNS LICENSE FOR MANUFACTURE IN THE SOUTH

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) of Japan has signed a license and technical assistance agreement with Sree Rayalaseema Power Corporation of Kurnool in southern India. Under the contract, the Indian company is to manufacture and sell two wind turbine models -- a 315 kW unit and a 450 kW machine -- based on MHI technology. Sree Rayalaseema, a member of the TGV group, is planning to build wind farms in four locations -- at Muppandal and Kethanur in Tamil Nadu, at Ramagiri in Andhra Pradesh and at Harsha in Gujarat. MHI says the agreement will help Sree Rayalaseema launch a fully fledged wind generation business.
