CEC EXPORT PROGRAMME GRANTS

Final proposals for grants for technology export must be submitted to the California Energy Commission (CEC) by February 29. The seventh round of funding for the Energy Technology Export Programme will provide $200,000 to California-based companies to help the export of energy technologies and services. The programme claims it has led to $330 million in project sales worldwide with another $2 billion under negotiation. This year up to $50,000 in seed money may be awarded. Revenue producing projects, however, are expected to reimburse the CEC. Wind companies awarded grants in the past have been Kenetech, for its Costa Rica project, Zond Systems, for project development in Chile, and SeaWest for resource assessment in Spain.
