Canadian firm Boralex expands French portfolio
Following the completion of a financing deal worth almost EUR 190 million in July, Canada's Boralex is expanding its French wind power portfolio. The company's French subsidiary recently bought an 8 MW project at Plouguin, in Brittany, from French wind project developer VSB Energies Nouvelles. The plant, in which Boralex is investing some EUR 11.8 million, comprises four Enercon E66 2 MW wind turbines from Germany. It is slated for commissioning in November, when the company also expects to complete its 39 MW Ally-Mercoeur installation, France's biggest wind project to date, and the 18 MW Cham de Cham Longe plant (“uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, April 2005). This will bring Boralex's installed capacity in France to around 90 MW out of its total wind capacity of 315 MW worldwide.
