Wind lobby attacks state power board
Wind industry complaints about poor administration by the Tamil Nadu State Electricity Board (TNEB) are getting louder. "TNEB seems to be satisfied with the wind they have tapped so far and does not seem bothered about more development," says one wind company representative. He declines to be named. An anti-wind attitude at TNEB, coupled with delays in approving wind farm applications, seem to be the main complaints. Tariffs for wind power have also remained at INR 2.45/kWh, despite calls for an increase to INR 2.65/kWh.
