Danish-Chinese joint venture makes turbine control systems

Danish supplier of electronics to the wind industry KK-Electronic has set up a joint venture in China with CSIC Chongqing Qianwei Instrument & Metering Factory to develop and manufacture control systems for wind turbines. The new company, to be called KK-Qianwei “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Equipment, will combine the Danish company's technical expertise with the Chinese partner's market knowledge and manufacturing capabilities, says KK-Electronic's Tommy Jespersen. "CSIC-Qianwei's parent company is a state owned business. That means they already have good ties to the system," he says. "As a foreign company it would be much more difficult to enter the Chinese market alone." The joint venture already has a hundred workers ready to serve Chinese wind turbine producers. It expects production to start by mid-year.
