Five orders for 115 MW on island of Sicily
Spanish turbine manufacturer Gamesa Eólica has been awarded five contracts worth EUR 76 million to install wind stations with a combined capacity of 115.6 MW in the Italian island of Sicily. Gamesa says it will supply 136 of its 850 kW work horse to Italian companies “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Sud Srl, Enpower Srl and Moncada Costruzioni. Assembly is expected to begin soon. Gamesa will build, operate and maintain the wind turbines in the five projects. Forty-four turbines will be delivered to the Monte Petrasi wind farm; 28 turbines to a project in Narbone; 21 to Malvizzo; 33 to Durra and ten to Monte Mele, all in Agrigento. After Vestas, Gamesa ranks second among turbine manufacturers in terms of MW installed in Italy last year.
