PLANS CALLED IN FOR 17 TURBINES AT WORTHYVALE MANOR
A public inquiry has been ordered into a proposed Cornish wind farm after the scheme had been approved by the local planning authority. Secretary of State for the Environment John Gummer called in plans for 17 turbines at Worthyvale Manor near Camelford in Cornwall after North Cornwall District councillors voted in favour of the project -- against the advice of their planning officer. Among other issues the inquiry will consider the impact of the scheme on the nearby Heritage Coast and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and its cumulative impact with existing wind farms in the area.
