Wind turbines to power radio transmitter

Boise State Radio (BSR) is extending its listening range into the wide open spaces of southern Idaho and northern Nevada by powering a new radio transmitter with three small wind turbines. The public radio station will place the 10 kW turbines next to the radio transmitter at the top of the 2621 metre (8600 foot) Ellen D Mountain, just over the Idaho border in Nevada. The nearest power line is over four miles away.
