GET'S BIGGEST WIND FARM
GET Gesellschaft für Energietechnik inaugurated its largest project yet on January 20, a 4.65 MW wind station at Brunsbüttel. The station comprises four GET 41, 600 kW turbines and ten GET-Danwin 225 kW units. All were built in Rendsburg in co-operation with engineering and shipbuilding company HDW-Nobiskrug. HDW-Nobiskrug, a subsidiary of the Preussag Group, is responsible for the manufacture, installation, commissioning, maintenance and the 24 month guarantee of GET turbines. The wind station covers an area of nearly 60 hectares leased from local farmers, some of whom have invested in the operator company, Windpark H.S. Investment in the project amounted to DEM 11 million, supported in part by both the state of Schleswig-Holstein and by the federal 250 MW wind programme.
