Gamesa Eólica assured seven new contracts for 100 MW
Gamesa Eólica, Spain's largest wind turbine manufacturer, has been assured at least seven new contracts for 100.5 MW, six of which have been signed and sealed. Five deals for a total of 44 Gamesa Eólica 850 kW machines were clinched with Corporación Eólica SA (CESA) for three wind plant extensions and two new plant in the provinces of Burgos and Zamora in the north of Castile and León region. The sixth contract comes from Explotaciones Eólicas Sierra de Utrera, SL -- in which CESA also holds a 25% share -- for a 13.6 MW extension to the existing 19.8 MW Los Llanos plant in the province of Málaga, which brought 30 Gamesa Eólica 660 kW turbines on-line in 1999. This year's extension will use 16, 850 kW machines. Meanwhile, sister company Gamesa Energía has received regional government approval to develop its 49.5 MW Ameixeiras y Testeiros project in Galicia, to be powered by 75, Gamesa Eólica 660 kW machines.
