Annual wind report

-

Between 1994 and 1995, wind turbine availability in Sweden increased from 96.5% to 98%, according to the government's annual wind report for 1995, published in July. At the end of last year Gotland still had the largest number of turbines, 84, with Halland in second place with 39 turbines on line. Two Danish companies, Vestas and WindWorld, still dominate the market; during 1995 WindWorld installed 34 turbines and Vestas 24. German Enercon entered the market and installed five turbines. And 20% of the turbines were owned by co-operatives, 16% by independent wind power companies, 25% by farmers or private individuals, 21% by utilities and the remaining 18% by companies outside the power branch, such as shops, factories and other businesses.
