It would seem that a predilection for calling a spade a spade cost the director of the Danish wind turbine industry association, Søren Krohn, his job late last month. Krohn, who has headed the Danish Association of Wind Turbine Manufacturers for the past nine years, was a driving force behind a far reaching modernisation of the industry association. But he has never been one to mince his words, whether passing scathing judgement on a cost-benefit analyses of wind policy by the national economic council, or targeting the government and parliament when political decisions harmed the wind industry or society ar large. Over the years, Krohn's no-nonsense choice of language gave plenty of static in the lines of communication, particularly with politicians. Taking heed of the consequences, the board of directors of the industry association announced on June 30 that Krohn was leaving his job the following morning "after mutual agreement." Neither Krohn nor the association wish to comment further.
