Business is booming for Vestas Deutschland Windenergie, the German arm of Vestas of Denmark. Production capacity is fully booked until the end of the year and turnover is expected to increase from DEM 58 million in 1993 to at least DEM 85 million this year with the sale of around 100 turbines, mainly the V39 500 kW. Meantime, the first series produced V29 225 kW turbine with a 50.5 m tower (developed from the V27) will be installed in the autumn. It has been designed to suit the inland market. Also the V42 600 kW turbine will be ready for the German market by the end of 1995. In September this year Vestas will open a new marketing office in Rostock on the Baltic coast.
