Three wind farms, including one offshore, with a combined capacity of 149 MW are to be built in Xiamen under plans proposed by the Xiamen municipal government. The biggest project is the 100 MW offshore wind farm at Dadeng Island, while the two onshore plants are the 40 MW Xiang'an Lianhe and 9 MW Xiamen Neicuo wind plants. Meanwhile, China Longyuan Electric Power Group has started work on its 200 MW Baotou wind farm in Inner Mongolia. Construction is expected to take two to three years.
