Spanish developer Enerfin has started construction on a group of four neighbouring wind plant totalling 100 MW in the Páramo de Poaz area of Burgos, Castile and León. The four wind stations will be made up of a total of 133 Ecotècnia 750 kW turbines and all units are scheduled to come on-line in August 2002. The developer estimates overall investment at EUR 72 million and expects annual production to top 200 GWh. Enerfin is wholly owned by Spanish electrical infrastructure giant Elecnor and, via a series of joint ventures, is behind over 150 MW of Spain's on-line wind capacity, mostly in Navarra. The company expects to have 1000 MW up and running in Spain by 2005. It is currently developing 3000 MW in Argentina with Spain's largest utility, Endesa.
