Country installs largest wind turbine yet
The largest wind turbine in Finland, a Bonus 2 MW turbine, has been installed by Finnish wind power company Suomen Hyotytuuli at Tahkoluoto in Pori. The EUR 2.1 million project received a EUR 700,000 subsidy from Finland's trade and industry ministry. Founded in 1999, Suomen Hyotytuuli is owned by nine regional and local energy groups which buy and market the wind energy produced by Suomen. Finland has 64 wind power plants currently in operation, with a combined capacity of around 41 MW. They provide about 0.1% of the country's total electricity output.
