Annual consumer survey
Nordex has taken first place in Denmark's annual consumer survey of wind turbine owners, conducted by the magazine of the Danish Windmill Owners' Association, Naturlig Energi. Nordex scored the best possible top score of 44 points. The company, which was bought by the German Balcke-Dürr concern in 1996, moved up from third place last year, when it scored 34. A total of 396 owners of 480 wind turbines in Denmark have participated in the survey of machine quality and reliability as well as supplier's after sales service and willingness to live up to its guarantee commitments. Notably, Wind World fell from second place last year down to seventh place, tying with Micon, which sank from fifth place. Wind World's poor scores -- particularly in service and guarantee -- stem most likely from the company's restructuring last year (“uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, June 1997). Conversely, Wincon leapt from eighth place last year to fourth place, scoring well in all four areas of the survey.
