Crookwell 4.8 MW project on track

still on track

Australia's first commercial wind farm to be connected to the country's national grid is still on track for completion before the end of the year, according to the developers, Pacific Power and Great Southern Energy (GSE). A development application for the 4.8 MW Crookwell wind farm south of Sydney has been submitted to the regional authority which has previously voiced strong support for the project. Tenders for the supply and construction of the wind farm were expected to be issued this month, according to Pacific Power. The wind farm is a key component of GSE's green power scheme which was launched simultaneously with a Green Power Programme developed by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority of New South Wales (story page 39).
