Press changes tune; annual wind report.

Sweden's main daily newspaper, Dagens Nyheter, reported in detail on wind power development at Näsudden on Gotland in a recent Sunday edition. Näsudden hosts the largest concentration of wind power in Sweden, with some 50 turbines on line. In the article, some local people argued that the wind development has transformed their idyllic scenic promontory into an industrial landscape. Others find the turbines add to the scenic view and argue that the area of meagre vegetation with strong winds should be used to produce clean energy. Although starting with a negative bias, the news report ends positively, concluding that farmers in the area have been given vital additional income.
