Keith Dawber dies
New Zealand lost one of its most enthusiastic wind energy supporters with the recent death of Dunedin physicist Keith Dawber, 67. He had long been involved in wind energy research and promotion in New Zealand, undertaking pioneering work in the dry uplands of central Otago. Dawber was a firm believer in the potential for wind farms in the rural mountainous area. As a senior lecturer in physics at the University of Otago, he encouraged his students to take an interest in wind energy and recently co-authored "Sustainable Energy Options for New Zealand."
