Swiss developer with 700 MW of proposals in Spain

Swiss company NEK Umwelttechnik reports that it has about 500 MW of wind projects under development onshore in Spain, as well as a 200 MW Spanish offshore project in the Atlantic Ocean, to be located 15 to 25 kilometres from Cadiz. The offshore project is scheduled for construction in 2005 or 2006. "Further, we have 50 to 75 MW under development in Canada, two 25 MW under planning in the UK and two 5 MW projects on our books for Switzerland, all for installation within the next two to three years," says company owner Christoph Kapp. NEK has been in business since 1989 and employs between 30 and 35 engineers. It is also working on a 50 MW wind plant in Ghana (page 8).
