Repower North (China) is supplying 24 2 MW turbines to South China's Guangdong Baolihua New Energy Stock Co Ltd in a deal worth $60.12 million. The machines are being manufactured at Repower North's Baotou factory in Inner Mongolia, which will have the capacity to produce 200 turbines a year from 2009. The units for Baolihua will be installed on the coast of Guangdong province. The company is planning to eventually install a combined capacity of 1250 MW off the coast of Jiahu Bay, Lufeng, Guangdong. Delivery of the Repower North turbines is planned for next summer with installation completed by the end of 2009. Baolihua says it is also planning a 100 MW wind farm inland. Repower North is a joint venture formed in 2006 by Germany's Repower Systems, which holds 50.1% of the enterprise, Chinese steel and engineering company North Heavy Industry Corporation, and the UK's Honiton Energy, which has just been acquired by Colossus Holdings, a Singapore-based holding company of the Tanti group, and Arcapita Bank, based in Bahrain.
