Nebraska shifts a quarter of their energy to sustainables

In Nebraska, a coalition of environmental, consumer and farm groups is calling for a 25 MW wind farm to start generating power by 1995. The ultimate goal of the Sustainable Energy and Economic Development (SEED) campaign is to shift 25% of the state's energy mix from coal and nuclear to wind and biomass over the next 16 years. The eight member groups of SEED include Union of Concerned Scientists, Sierra Club, Nebraska Wildlife Federation, Nebraska Citizen Action and CLEAN.
