McDonald's golden arches lit by wind power in southern Alberta

Fast food's golden arches are now being lit by wind power in southern Alberta. Max Pasley Enterprises, which owns 33 McDonald's restaurants in Calgary, Red Deer and Lethbridge, has agreed to buy 4065 MWh hours of wind power annually from Calgary's Enmax Corporation, enough to meet about one-quarter of the electricity needs at the restaurants. "At McDonald's, we're constantly working with our suppliers to ensure we continue to make a difference in the important area of environmental sustainability," says owner Max Pasley. The chain also buys wind power in Sweden.
