Alongside Micon, other Danish wind companies with partner agreements with Indian firms in both Madras and Tamil Nadu are Wind World, Nordex, and Vestas, the most active of the three.
As well as Micon other Danish wind companies also have agreements with Indian firms, including Wind World, whose turbines are assembled by AMTL in Tamil Nadu, Nordex, whose turbines are built by state conglomerate BHEL, and Vestas. Of these Vestas through its partner RRB India Ltd, is Micon's closest competitor. RRB reports 64 MW installed (see table).
