Warmer political winds follow elections

The political climate for wind power in Sweden has improved dramatically following the country's general election on September 20. After suffering heavy losses, the ruling Social Democrats and prime minister Goran Persson are now required to form an alliance with both the Socialists and the Greens for a parliamentary majority. Both these parties are strong supporters of wind power. Negotiations are now taking place between all three parties on the terms for mutual co-operation over the next four years.
