McDonald's buys wind power
Two McDonald's fast food restaurants in Stockholm have signed contracts with Vattenfall for supply of wind power. Each produces 1.5 million meals a year and consumes about 1 GWh of electricity -- the yearly output of a medium scale turbine. One of the restaurants will be installing a huge model of a wind turbine outside the shop and will also provide a monitor for customers to follow the wind turbine's electricity production at any one time.
