Project goes online in Kinki region
Wind power developer Clean Energy Factory (CEF), based in Hokkaido, has formally inaugurated the largest wind plant in the western Japanese Kinki region. Comprising 15 GE Energy 2.5 MW units, the JPY 10 billion ($87.2 million) 37.5 MW plant in Minami-Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture, is CEF's fifth wind plant. The plant actually began operating in November 2006. Output is being sold to Kansai Electric Power.
