GASPE PENINSULA 100 MW DOUBT
There are fears that two 50 MW wind farms to be developed by Kenetech “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç on the Gaspe Peninsula could become stalled in the next wave of turbulence in Canada's sovereignty debate. The wind farms, to supply power to Hydro Quebec, are scheduled to begin in December 1996. However, this date could be delayed by an extended environmental assessment with public hearings. Such an assessment would begin in early 1996.
