Permission for 63 MW project in Var departement
A 63 MW wind power project has recently won siting permission in the Var département on the Mediterranean coast. The so-called Provencialis project is co-owned 55% by Eco Delta Développement (EDD), an independent developer and operator of wind and solar plant, and 45% by Caisse des Dépôts et des Consignations, a state-owned financial institution which owns a 10% stake in EDD, with an option on a further 10%. The 21 turbines will be connected directly to the high-tension grid using a substation specially designed by EDD, which will also manage the project. The installation is slated for completion in 2011.
