Portugal's Generg group reports 400 MW capacity
Portugal's Generg group reports it has 400 MW of installed or operating wind power capacity in Portugal, thanks to the installation of the latest wind turbine at the Gardunha Wind Park. Another 20 are being installed at Gardunha to bring the number of wind turbines to 57 and capacity to 114 MW. All are Enercon 2 MW units. The project is located in the districts of Castelo Branco and Fundão. The company's other projects include the 90 MW Caramulo Wind Park at Abelheira and the 146 MW Pinhal Interior Wind Park, one of the biggest in the country, located in the districts of Oleiros, Proença-a-Nova, Sertã and Vila Velha de Ródão. Generg plans to conclude an investment program worth EUR 500 million by the end of 2008. By then its Portuguese wind capacity will be 440 MW.
