The French subsidiary of Germany's Enertrag inaugurated its second wind power plant in France last month, a 12 MW installation at Bougainville in the Somme comprising six Enercon 2 MW turbines. This month, EDF Energies Nouvelles will switch on a 22 MW installation at Aumelas, near Montpellier in the Hérault département. British-French group Amec Spie built the plant, while Germany's Repower supplied the 11, 2 MW machines. EDF Energies Nouvelles also recently received siting consent for 48 MW at Villesèque et Portel-des-Corbières in the neighbouring Aude département; work is scheduled to begin late next year. In the Morbihan département of Brittany, French developer RDE, now owned by Spain's Agrupacion Eolica, will commission its 9 MW Noyal-Pontivy (Gueltas) station this month. Again, Amec Spie acted as general contractor and Repower provided the six 1.5 MW turbines. Six Repower 2 MW turbines were also recently connected to the grid at Cegelec's 12 MW Champfleury plant in the Aube, to be followed by another 12 at the end of this month at two 12 MW installations at Haute-de-Vase and Le Boutonnier in the Meuse département. Spain's Ecotècnia, meanwhile, celebrates the commissioning of its first ECO 74 turbine in France at St-Arnach in the eastern Pyrenees. The single 1.67 MW unit is owned by Centernach Energie, a subsidiary of SPE (Belgium's second largest electricity provider) and the French developer Valeco Eole. Seven ECO 74 1.67 MW turbines are also being installed at Dio et Valquières in the Hérault département. This is a turnkey project for Ecotècnia, which will also operate and maintain it for owner Dio Energie, a local private investor. Commercial operation is slated for March 2006.
