Investors sought for 15 MW wind plant in Saxony
Wind station financier Bobikiewicz & Partner is raising capital for a new 15 MW wind station in west Saxony, sited about 40 kilometres south of Leipzig. Private investors can acquire shares in the planned wind station, Bockelwitz, which will comprise ten 1.5 MW Tacke Windenergie turbine. The minimum stake in the project for local investors is DEM 10,000; for others it is DEM 20,000. The total value of the project is about DEM 40 million, says Bobikiewicz. Technical planning is being carried out by Ostwind Verwaltung of Lichtenstein, Saxony, which already operates 64 wind turbines. Ostwind, together with Ökobank of Frankfurt, a bank specialising in ecological projects, has guaranteed it will find private investors to raise DEM 12 million. The construction licence for the wind station was granted in February and the plant should come on line in 2000.
