Rival Dutch company takes over 120 MW offshore wind project
Dutch renewables agency Econcern is taking over development of the 120 MW offshore wind farm Q7-WP from rival Dutch renewables agency E-Connection. According to Econcern, construction work on the EUR 287 million project, which is to be built 23 kilometres off the Dutch coast near Egmond, will begin early this year for delivery in 2006. Econcern is a holding company for various Dutch renewables enterprises including Evelop, Ecofys and Ecoventures. Primary investors in Q7-WP will be Econcern and Energy Investments Holding (EIH) along with yet to be named private investors. It is hoped the project's equipment suppliers, being selected, will provide further equity, along with the power companies who buy the electricity.
