JORDAN AND ISRAEL SIGN ACCORD FOR JOINT RESEARCH

Jordan has signed an accord with Israel for joint research into energy resources -- including wind power -- and has received a pledge of access to Israeli data on radiation levels. The accord will boost joint research in renewables, such as wind and solar, as well as in oil exploration and the exploitation of oil shale for commercial use, Jordan's minister of energy Samih Darwazah told Reuters news agency after the deal was signed on August 17 in the Red Sea port of Aqaba.
