A new directory profiles 75 of America's largest energy service companies affiliated with old style utilities. The "Directory of Leading Energy Service Companies," is authored by Oakland based consulting group Barakat & Chamberlain, which is itself owned by an "energy service company," or ESCO, PG&E Energy services. The book details the companies' corporate affiliations, markets and products and services and is available from the Utility Data Institute division of McGraw-Hill. It defines an ESCO as a non-regulated affiliate of a regulated electric and gas company.
