Small projects in the works for 1.5 MW Enron machines

Japan Wind Development Co Ltd (JWD) is working on two single unit projects using 1.5 MW turbines from Enron Wind Europe. Construction is scheduled to start this month. One project is in Choshi, Chiba, and the other in Nemura, Hokkaido, though this development is dependent on qualifying for capital subsidy from Japan's wind program. The Choshi turbine will be operated by a 100% JWD subsidiary called Vhoshi-Byobugaura Furyoku Kaihatsu KK while the Nemuro machine will be operated by Hokkaido Clean Energy Factory KK, which is 40% owned by JWD. The other shareholders are local companies.
