600 KW TO BE INSTALLED AT DUNMAGLAS IN SCOTLAND

The first Markham 600 kW VS45 wind turbine has been installed at the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog wind test site in Germany. Markham expects Germanischer-Lloyd certification in the autumn which would then open up the German market to the company. A second Markham 600 kW is to be installed in September at Dunmaglas in Scotland. This will replace a Floda 600 machine -- previously manufactured under licence by Markham -- which was never commissioned and sparked a court case between the owner, Sir Jack Heywood, and Markham. Peter Bate from Chesterfield based Markham stresses the new machine is very different from the Floda which the company no longer produces.
