Plans for two more offshore wind farms in British waters, with a combined capacity of 180 MW, took a step forward with the launch by Centrica of the tender for construction of the projects at Lynn and Inner Dowsing, off Lincolnshire on England's east coast. The projects are included in "round one" of British consents for offshore wind farms. More than 30 companies registered initial interest in constructing them. It is understood that just 12 or 13 have been invited to tender for the turnkey contract to design, build, operate, maintain and eventually remove the stations.
