ENVIRONMENT PARTY PROGRAMME OFFERS 13,000 NEW JOBS
Sweden's green party, The Environment Party, has put forward a plan to create 13,000 new jobs in a programme for development of solar and wind energy. The SEK 1.5 million budget for the programme would take it to the turn of the century. After a 1980 referendum, Sweden is committed to closing all nuclear power plants by 2010. The programme put forward by the greens would replace three of the 12 reactors currently in use.
