A further 44 MW of wind power has been brought online in France in four new projects. French owner-developer Française d'Eoliennes recently completed a 16.15 MW installation at Argonne and the 19.55 MW Côtes de Champagne plant, both in the Marne department of northeast France. Gamesa supplied the 42, 850 kW turbines. Française d'Eoliennes has also contracted Gamesa to install 27, 2 MW units in the nearby Meuse department in a 54 MW project known as La Voix Sacré. It will be divided into five plant to benefit from the fixed premium purchase prices available to projects of 12 MW and less. Work is scheduled to start next month for completion in April. Française d'Eoliennes intends to keep ownership of 42 MW but sell the remainder. Meanwhile, French utility EDF in June commissioned five Vestas 850 kW units alongside its hydro-electric station at Caurel-et-Saint Mayeux in Brittany. And this month German developer Juwi is adding two Enercon 2 MW turbines to its Plouguin plant, also in Brittany.
