Utility Endesa reveals investment plan for 78 MW of wind

Spain's largest utility, Endesa, has revealed the details of its investment plan for wind plant totalling 78.4 MW for the wind hotspot region of Tarifa in the south. The plan received approval from Andalucia's regional government early last year. The utility says it will invest EUR 70 million in the project and claims building will finally start this spring. It also confirms that 800 kW machines will be used from MADE Tecnologías, Endesa's turbine manufacturing wing. The five plant to have received permits from Tarifa's town hall make up the bulk of the regional government's 92 MW concession to Endesa's renewable energy development division, Endesa Cogeneracion y Renovables (Ecyr). While the company has not confirmed why the total falls short of the original concession, Ecyr hopes to get regional government approval for a further 42 MW in Tarifa by this time next year.
