Wind turbines are being blamed for grid instability in Tamil Nadu after all five of the Tuticorin Thermal Power Station's 210 MW generating units tripped recently. The incident has renewed demands for better control of the grid connection of wind power plant and a call for improved electronic technology. It is the first time in recent years that wind turbines have caused the entire Tuticorin power station to go off line.
