New monitor group has been formed
A new group has been formed to monitor proposed wind energy developments. The National “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Consultative Association, based at Knighton in Powys is a voluntary body of individuals from the Welsh and English borders area. The association's objective is to achieve proper and responsible planning in the siting of wind farms to the benefit of local and national economies. It intends to evaluate information from all sides in the wind energy debate and then pass its recommendations on to planning authorities. The group was spurred into action by what it sees as a lack of guidance from central government on wind turbine siting, which it sees as a symptom of the absence of any coherent and long term national energy strategy.
