WIND PROSPECT COMPANY

Small wind energy developer Windcluster is setting up a new company, Wind Prospect, in collaboration with partners Triodos Bank of the Netherlands and Energy Connection, a Dutch wind engineering consultancy. According to Liz Reason of Windcluster the new company will allow Windcluster to enlarge the scope, from finding sites, through to construction and operation. "Until now it has been a bit of a hand-to-mouth existence for us, but the new company will have a better financial footing. We expect to become quite an important player in wind development in Britain," she says. Wind Prospect will build and operate the eight Windcluster sites in north-west England and Scotland that have power purchase contracts under the latest round of the Non-Fossil Fuel Obligation (NFFO-3) and the Scottish Renewables Order (SRO). Wind Prospect also intends to offer a full range of consultancy services to other developers. It is to be based in Bristol.
